A signature is only worth the evidence behind it. That evidence does not improve when you upgrade, because it was never ours to ration.
Legal standing
Every signature is made under Electronic Transactions Proclamation No. 1205/2020 — on the free plan exactly as on the paid ones.
Identity checks
One-time passcodes over SMS and email confirm each signer before the pen ever touches the page.
Tamper-evident seal
Completed documents are sealed, so a change made afterwards shows up the moment anyone looks.
Public verification
Anyone holding the file can check it on the verification page — no account, no fee, no call to us.

What counts as one envelope?
One document package sent out for signature — however many pages it runs to, and however many people have to sign it. Recipients are never billed separately, and a document you receive to sign never comes out of your own allowance.
Is a signature on the free plan worth less than one on Business?
No. Legal standing, identity checks, the tamper-evident seal, the audit trail and the public verification page are in every plan. Paying more buys volume, team controls and support — never a stronger signature.
What happens when I run out of envelopes?
Nothing stops. eFirma keeps sending and adds the overage to your next invoice at ETB 12 an envelope. If it becomes a habit, moving up a plan is cheaper — the workspace will say so.
Can I change or cancel my plan later?
Yes. Move up and the new allowance applies immediately, with the difference prorated. Move down or cancel and the change takes effect at the end of the cycle you have already paid for.
Do the people I send documents to need to pay, or even sign up?
Neither. A signer opens the link, confirms a passcode sent to their phone or email, and signs. Anyone who later needs to check that document can verify it without an account either.
What happens to my documents if I stop paying?
Signed documents and their audit trails stay yours. The workspace drops to the free allowance for new sending, and everything already completed remains readable, downloadable and verifiable.
