Public document check

Is this document the real one?

Drop in a signed PDF — or paste the reference printed on it — and eFirma recomputes its fingerprint, checks the seal it was stamped with, and replays every recorded step. Anyone can check. No account needed.

or verify by reference

The QR code and the reference it opens are printed in the verification seal on every sealed eFirma document. A file is the stronger check of the two: only it can show that this copy is the one that was signed.

The fingerprint is computed from your file in your browser, and again by eFirma from the bytes it receives. Your file is checked and discarded — it is never stored.

How a check runs

Three questions, asked of every document.

A verification is not a stamp that says "trust us". It is three independent answers, each one you can see the working for.

01 — Fingerprint

The document is measured

A SHA-256 fingerprint is computed from the file itself — first in your browser, then again by eFirma from the bytes it receives. Change a single character, a date, a figure, and the fingerprint changes completely.

  • No account, no sign-in
  • Computed twice, compared
  • The file is never stored
02 — Record

It is matched to a sealed record

eFirma looks for a sealed document with that exact fingerprint, and reads back who signed it, how they proved who they were, and when.

  • Byte-for-byte match
  • Signer identity checks
  • Platform seal on the evidence
03 — Chain

The history is replayed

Every recorded event is hashed together with the one before it. Replaying the chain proves nothing was removed, reordered, or backdated.

  • Append-only trail
  • Hash-linked events
  • Sealed at completion
What a passed check proves

Enough to rely on. Enough to defend.

Under Electronic Transactions Proclamation No. 1205/2020, a document is only as good as the evidence behind it. A verification hands you that evidence in four parts — and the record to go with it.

Integrity

The content in front of you is exactly what was signed — not a later revision or a lookalike.

SHA-256

Identity

Each signer passed a one-time passcode check on a phone number or email address before signing.

OTP verified

Time

When eFirma sealed the document — written into the evidence at the time and checked against the rest of the record.

Ethiopian time

Trail

Every step from creation to sealing, hash-linked so that a missing or edited event shows up immediately.

Audit chain

Every document you send can be checked like this.

Send a document with eFirma and it arrives sealed, referenced, and verifiable by anyone who receives it — for as long as it matters.
